“Mēness aptieka”, as the general sponsor of the Latvian Paralympic Committee, has prepared and hands over to the paralympians – the applicants of the “Three Star Prize” – a gift from fans useful for health during the pandemic – a Covid-19 protective package “Protect yourself! Protect others!” In this way, “Mēness aptieka” confirms the active support of the company’s fans for athletes.
This year, nominated for the highest Latvian award in sports – the “Three Star Award” – are the Latvian wheelchair curling team, the athlete Aigars Apinis, paralympic bobsleigh athlete Arturs Klots, athlete Diāna Dadzīte and wheelchair curling player Polina Rožkova. The Latvian wheelchair curling team has been nominated in the category “Sports Team of the Year”. For the first time in history, the wheelchair team has won the opportunity to represent Latvia at the 2022 Winter Paralympic Games in Beijing. In turn, Aigars Apinis, Arturs Klots, Diāna Dadzīte and Polina Rožkova have been nominated in the category “Paralympic Athlete”. As the popular vote continues, “Mēness aptieka” gifts a Covid-19 protection package “Protect yourself! Protect others!” as well as seasonal vitamin sets to all the nominees.

The Covid-19 protective package “Protect yourself! Protect others!” prepared by the pharmacists of “Mēness aptieka” contains various pharmacy products that are currently important and necessary for safe everyday life – a hand cleansing gel with essential oils produced by the Riga Pharmaceutical Factory, wet antibacterial wipes, a set of safe face masks, vitamins and mineral preparations important for immunity, as well as a cream for skin care for the hands. The paralympians receive gift as a fan support greeting. Taking care of the safety and health of the population, a larger number of such useful kits has been prepared and, starting from December, the protective package “Protect yourself! Protect others!” will be available for purchase for every resident as a topical gift for the end of this year to give to their closest ones.
“Mēness aptieka” pharmacies have taken comprehensive measures for the safety of our customers and employees. Pharmacists work behind a safe protective divider every day, hand disinfectants are available for use in the pharmacy, work surfaces are regularly disinfected, pharmacies are subject to enhanced ventilation, and sections for safe distance between visitors are marked on the floor of trade premises. “Mēness aptieka” invites you to use contactless payment as much as possible, to avoid staying in the self-service section of pharmacies for longer than needed, to not touch the products with your hands unnecessarily. This year, “Mēness aptieka” became the general sponsor of the Latvian Paralympic Committee. According to the cooperation agreement, “Mēness aptieka” provides the Latvian Paralympic Committee with funding amounting to 360 000 euros over a period of three years – 120 000 euros every year, which is intended to be used for supporting the development of paralympic sports in the regions of Latvia, to encourage the popularity of children’s and youth parasports, as well as to support professional athletes’ preparation for competitions and participation in international competitions.
